Week off with the Boys - Day #1

Well, there aren't a lot races in July and August, so not much running to blog about....but plenty of stuff going on with the 3 Bugeys.  Today, we took a trip to the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA.  Also, spent lots of $$$ in the factory store, but that was ok.  I loaded up for Christmas.

Good Neighbor Day 5k Race - Downingtown, PA

Yesterday, my mother and I took the boys out for fireworks.  Before we did that though, the three of them decorated the wagon in all red, white, and blue gear for the race.  The wagon looked awesome.

The race was bright and early in Downingtown.  I met Chris Felix at the race (as usual).  I also saw Brandi Fox and her family (she was kind enough to take the below picture).

but I had a special guest run with and the boys for this race....Mr. John Gwiazdowski himself.  John actually ran the whole race with me and the boys.  We got a lot of cheers for the decorated wagon.  The boys were having flags, and of course they were decked out in red, white, and blue outfits.

What a great end to a great holiday weekend.  My goal was to do 10 races with the boys this year.  This was race #7 (only 3 to go).

Pickle in the Villa

5 Mile Pickle Run at Linvilla Orchards.

This was an interesting run.  Had the option of doing a 3.5 mile run, or a 5 mile run.  I chose the 5 mile run.  The entire run was on some form of trail or grass.  The first 3 miles were pretty easy.  There were some hills, but all in all, nothing out of the ordinary.  The last 2 miles were brutal.  Wow.  Never ran 2 miles as tough as those 2 miles were.  Very hilly.  Good lord I was sore at the end. 

The good thing was that I had these two devils at home ready to play as soon as I got out of the car.
