Holiday Prediction Run - CCRS in West Chester

Today, Chris Felix and I did the Prediction Run in West Chester.  Race itself was free, just had to donate a toy for charity, to which I gave a nice big Shop Rite tractor trailer.  The race is 7k (4.3 miles) that starts at the CCRS Store in West Chester, down past the university and behind the stadium, looping back up to the store.  There were probably about 25 runners or so, and I came in dead last.  The prediction run however is about predicting your time, not about how fast you actually run.  I predicted 43 minutes, and came in around 41 minutes.  Congrats to Chris, who was only off his time by 14 seconds, and got 5th place (which won him a free running shirt from the store).  The store did give out free running socks for those who participated.  All in all, a good time, and look forward to doing that run again sometime.

Side note:  Chris and I do a lot of runs together....which translates to us starting together......and then he waits at the finish line for 10-20 minutes for me to finish.  Someday, we may actually run one of these things together, but that someday isn't any time soon.

33rd Annual Brian's Run in West Chester

5 mile run that started and ended at Henderson High School in West Chester.  Ran with Chris Felix (which is to say that Chris and I started the run together)  50 minutes for me (so a 10 minute mile) which was fine by me.  Lots of hills on this course.  Got a nice neon green long sheeve shirt for the run.  Also sporting my Brian's Run hat....from 1985.

A good time as always.

Jingle Elf Run in West Chester

Before the Annual Christmas Parade in West Chester, the city hosts a 2 mile run throughout the downtown streets.  The course is 2 one mile loops.  Before the 2 miler, there is a 200meter toddlers race and a 1 mile kids race.  All participants were given an elf hat to run it.  It was a little chilly to bring the boys, but maybe next year.

Also running the race:
Niki, Jess, Dana, Aunt Jen, and of course Uncle Phil.

Brian's Run in 2 days.

Turkey Burner in West Chester

Today was a little chili and rainy out, so I left the boys at home for this one.  5k race through West Chester, followed by post race refreshmentst at Barnaby's.

31:02

Not a good time that I ran it in, but after a run the day before, followed by a full day of eating.....well, I guess it will just have to do.  There were probably about 200 people or so.  Nice 2 lap loop through West Chester (by the university).  Running at 9am sure beats shopping.

Brian's Run in a week!!!

5k Turkey Trot - Downingtown, PA

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today, Tommy Graham and I went out to Downingtown, PA to do the 5k Turkey Trot.  Met up with Chris Felix to do the run.  He had a cheerleading squad in Chrissy and Brandy.  I had a cheerleader squad with Niki, and my two sons Nathan and Christopher (who were also there to see their Uncle Phil).  The boys did not run, but they were there at the finish line.  Many thanks to Niki for bringing them.  A truly wonderful way to start Thanksgiving.
