Hershey Half Marathon

Hershey Half Marathon
Hershey, PA

Race started at 7:30.  I was up at 6:30, and had mom drop me off by the stadium at 7:05 or so (it was nice that we stayed less than a mile away from the start).

Of course before I went, Nathan and Chris woke up to see me off.  As you can see from Nathan, he is really excited for me (watching cartoons).  Chris was also just as excited (really ticked cause I woke him up.)

So the race starts right behind the stadium at Hershey (where I have seen many a DMB concert).  It was chilly, but I knew it would only be that way why we waited around.  Once the race started, it was perfect.

The first 3 miles or so takes runners around the complex (out past the convention center) and the back through the park.  The park was not open, except for us runners running through.  We ran in the park for a mile.

We just about always had the tower in sight at one point or another.

I don't know how many people signed up for the race, but there were 3,926 finishers (so I am guessing they capped it at 4,000 people).

Halloween at Hershey Park

Halloween trip to Hershey Park:

On Sunday, I am running the half marathon in Hershey.  We decided to go up for the night and take the kids to Hershey Park on Saturday.  We were joined by Jen, Krissy, and Susan Graham.  Unfortunately, Tommy had to work and was unable to make it.

We got up to Hershey around 2pm, check in to our hotel, then went over to the arena to the race expo (so I could pick up my race gear).  It was then over to Cholocate World for the great Chocolate Ride and lunch.  We then headed over to the park for about 2 hours.  Notice the kids are all wearing matching orange sweatshirts.  That is not a coincidence (thanks, Mighty Mary).

After that, we went back to the hotel to get dressed a litte warmer, and put on costumes.  Then, we headed back to the park for "Hershey Park in the Dark"
