Laneybug 5k

Laneybug 5k
West Chester, PA

It been well over a year since I ran the downtwon West Chester course.  I have run this course over a dozen times for pobably 7 or 8 different races.  Beautiful day for it.  I ran it in 34 minutes.  That is not very good, but coming off of a half marathon yesterday, I will take it.

My good friends Brendan and Amy McNamee watched the boys while I did the race.  Afterwards, I went over their house, and Brendan and I had a couple of cigars (at 10am).

A nice start to a nice Memorial Day

The Savage Race

The Savage Race
Hopkins Game Farm
Kennedyville, MD 21645

So instead of doing this race in 45 degree weather, like last September in the Poconos, this year is was 70 degrees in Maryland.  Much, much better.  The course was fantastic.  Same obstacles as the one in September, but much less running in the woods (so not running on roots and stones).

Jared and Johnny could not make it.  However Mark Redwine was able to make it.  He drove down to WC from Quakertown, picked me up, and then we headed down to Kennedyville, MD (about an hour and twenty minute drive from West Chester.).

We went off at 11:20am.  This time, the big tub of ice was not 100 yards past the start, but rather about 1/2 mile into the race.  That was kind of nice.  The course was longer at 5.6 miles, but it felt that the obstacles were much more spread out.

I didn't take a lot of pics, but I got a good one of me and Mark below.  Can't wait to do it again next year.

and following the race, we had Sierra Schierbaum's 8th birthday party, where this happened.

Truly a great day.

2014 Blue Cross Broad Street 10 Miler

2014 Blue Cross Broad Street 10 Miler
Philadelphia, PA

So, its that time of the year again.  They say that 40k registrants this year.  It keeps getting bigger and bigger. Another fun day with my running bros Jared and John.  Last year, I made some signs encouraging (in a wiseass way) Johnny.  This year, Jared made some wise ass signs to encourage me.  Nothing like good ole fashioned ball busting to start this race.

I had friends from over the years who also completed the race yesterday, many of them first timers.  I hope they had as much fun as I did.

Laruen Turton, with her husband Andy Turton (running his first Broad Street race)

Heather Doyle Tracey - Broad Street Veteran

Gina Liott and Angela Robertson

Lori Henderson - Her first 10 mile run.  She did not post a picture of herself, but she did post this on facebook

A special shout out to Lynn Seubertling.  A month ago, she wrapped up her chemo therapy, and today she rean 10 miles.  That is pretty amazing.  Congratulations, Lynn!

Finally, Jared had made some fun pictures to post on Facebook the morning of the race.  These are priceless.

Delaware Museum of Natural History

Delaware Museum of Natural History
Wilmington, DE

A weekend at the Bugey house with a visit from the Graham ladies.  Susan, Krissy, and Jennifer were all here.

We took the kids to the Delaware Museum of Natural History.  Its a small museum, but it wasn't crowded at all, and the kids had a really good time.

and then of course followed by a trip to Rita's Water Ice.

Seriously, these two look so cute, but they such troublemakers when they are together, it is truly scary
