Evanburg Challenge - 10 Mile Trail Run

Evanburg Challenge - 10 Mile Trail Run
Collegeville, PA

3 weeks to go until the marathon.  One of my goals this year was to do 5 trail runs.  I had only done 3 with one more on my calendar.  I needed a fifth.  With a week to go, I signed up for this race.

Who'da thunk we would have snow in October.  It made for a cold, muddy, wet run.  I finished in 2 hours and 2 minutes, which I was fine with.  There was a lot of mud so there was certainly at least 5 to 10 minutes of walking through it.  The only thing that was a bummer was that all the soft pretzels were gone by the time I finished.  I was not happy about that.

Afterwards, since I was in the area, I went to visit my best man Rob.  He had a baby boy back in August who I had yet to meet.  I was very excited to do so.

Rob looks like a natural father.

Bow Tree Run - 10k

Bow Tree Run - 10k
East Goshen, PA

Today, I ran the Bow Tree Run for the first time.  There was an option for a 5k or 10k.  I chose the 10.
It was tough, because I was up late the night before for a wedding, and I did not get to bed until 1am (and this race started at 8am).  There were also a lot of hills for the first and last mile.  Having said that, it was a great race.  There were only 47 runners for the 10k.  No real traffic to deal with.  It was fantastic.

The night before, I got to Skippack, PA to see my college buddy Joe marry his fiance Jen.  It was a marvelous wedding.  My friend Scott was up from Jacksonville, FL, and the two of us went to the wedding together.

The Bride and Groom

There was a mix up in the kitchen, and Scott did not get his Filet Mignon.  This was his dinner.

I wish the bride and groom a lifetime of happiness.  I had a great time
